Kinda bad
I was wondering why this is familar but I remembered reading this novel. The novel makes no sense right from the start... Doesn't get better. His grandfather, the vice leader of the Demonic Palace, gets one-sidedly killed by a random assassin that's sent by the Martial Alliance in the first chapter. The power balance is already off. MC, who is now an orphan, walks all the way on his own to enter the Demonic Palace by taking a test despite having no martial prowess or internal energy. He has to compete with a bunch of prodigies his age who have learned martial arts from a very young age, yet he somehow passes the test with no martial knowledge. I find it unbelievable and he was constantly saved by plot armor. The power balance is so bad at this point, I wanted to stop reading. A kid who grew up with no training can apparently beat prodigies born from powerful martial clans in mere days. What made me really quit reading was when he was scouted by the most powerful sect of the entire demonic palace after passing the test, yet he rejected them to join the weakest sect that's on the verge of getting kicked out of the rankings. Too da** cliche for my taste now.
