The problem with this isn't that there is mention of slavery, it's the fact that it has been romanticised.Also ,ppl defending this manhwa by bringing up rape in manhwas just to put down another issue( when both RAPE AND SLAVERY are TERRIBLE). WAKE TF UP , THE SAME IS HAPPENING HERE WHERE INSTEAD OF THE VICTIM AND THE RAPIST BEING A COUPLE , A VICTIM AND ITS OPPRESSOR ARE A COUPLE. Slavery was a major act of cruelty & oppression, the trope is the same as writing a romance between a jewish and a nazi soldier. Just because it didn't have an major impact on you or your ancestors doesn't mean that others are "idiots or snowflakes" to find this story insensitive and disrespectful.Jaxx themself admitted they should have been more careful admitting their mistake , because honestly there could have been a much better way to portray this story keeping the elements of racism that existed in those times. But the whole Indigenous slave × master trope is very distasteful.
