They were caught and embarrassed by one of the staff, most likely that (red headed knight) and it spread to the whole kingdom thus ruining their reputation (mostly tei's status in the north), or  2. The ordeal amplified shuraka's feelings, which in return burdened tei's character (knowing he's a very reputable man and is constantly busy ofc he's gonna feel suffocated because their marriage is a duty for him.), and atp when know how bl manhwas go. Ofcourse there's misunderstandings, miscommunication, angst ETC. what's a happy ending without pain anyway.
