Aqua chooses Kana in the end, yet his connection with Akane is reflected so well in the last episodes. Most people thought Akane was too perfect and got involved in Aqua’s life in a weird way, but I don’t think so. She was always on Aqua’s side, even though in the end it didn’t mean anything and he didn’t choose her. Still, that loyalty mattered.
I also want to talk about Ai. Sometimes they made us believe she was this brilliant girl (kind of like Akane?), but in the end, she was just a normal girl with talent and kindness. I don’t think she lacked any kind of emotion—she was just young. That’s it.
About Kana, I think she’s just a kid. She might have been a good match for Aqua too, but you know, I don’t really have much to say about her. I did feel really bad for her when Aqua died though—I was in tears, ngl
And Ruby… omg, she was such a weird character. They first made us think she was just a simple, sweet girl, but after everything that happened, she became so—I don’t even know how to describe it. I don’t understand why the author took things in that direction. I honestly hated it in the end. Some things didn’t serve the story at all, they just made me uncomfortable.
So yeah, I can’t say I’m completely happy with how it all went, but at least I know that if a story can make me feel all these emotions, it means it’s a successful one.
