@Reader He was also forced into the contract marriage, she's from the family who are trying to definitely find his weakness or put him in a tough spot, so they could continue their drug business with no problem. He can't trust her blindly, she's also scared of him which would obviously make things awkward and uncomfortable between them. He was nice to her by giving her some trinkets and jewelry to live after their divorce, when there was enough forged evidence and testimony from her brother she was a spy while they were married. He was just indifferent to someone who was clearly uncomfortable with him and she may 100 percent be married to him to destroy him to help her family business. She never even tried to let him know she's on his side or she's harmless due to her being a victim, which I'm sure he's oblivious about. To me you're supporting the Main character and made a perfectly sane and ambitious character the villain. He didn't even bring in any mistress. The MC is a victim here but she's the main character of her life, she caused her downfall, but at the same time couldn't help it because she's traumatized I guess. The male lead being indifferent to a potential person who could be a spy or poison him is no way at fault here. This is fiction but let's be for real.  I definitely won't give a dime or trinket to someone I divorced with evidence she was a spy the whole time we were married. He's definitely a nice person for that.

@Lol I don't think her background matters to the barbarians. The king still wanted to marry her, which influenced the barbarian's king decision to marry her, to infuriate the other king. She has been very sheltered with suffering and maltreatment, which led her to the myopic decision she made, then lied to her husband. She couldn't see the bigger picture of things, neither does she have the knowledge. Her decision is understandable, but it is clearly wrong. I won't classify her personally as "weak", because I'm emotionally attached right now. But she has a long way to go. Knowledge to attain, trauma to overcome, confidence. Then no one would think or classify her as weak. Logically she is; emotionally, mentally, psychologically, financially and physically.
