Midou grew as a character here. From the beginning of the story, you can clearly see how he wavers in majority of his decisions. Only when he gained the confidence did he stop wavering from his values and thoughts. It's understandable that people would feel pis*** to see him be this way towards Shinjou when he's the one who helped him gain the confidence, but it's human nature to be that way. Once trust is "betrayed", you rarely get a second chance. So both characters here aren't wrong, they just happened to clash due to circumstances and mental states.

I like grieving characters, just as much as I like apathetic MC's (that's the main reason I kept reading + I liked Shinjou's visuals, he was appealing in the first chapter and that's what made me stay the entire time) (weird? definitely, but it helps doesn't it?)

They were lucky that all 40 of them were alive from the start till recent chapters. It's almost as if they haven't realized how lucky that is, especially when it's in high risk situations where it's life or death for them. I get that they're still in highschool, but they should have grasped the concept the moment they saw people dying on the battlefield. Though it is good to see Arashi grieving as he is a hard-headed character who always charges head-on, even if he cares for his comrades. By then he should be able to understand how precious a human life really is, that they're not invincible from death even when they get injured

How old is she supposed to be ? Kind of concerned that she looks like a child and her height is only at the ML's chest level.....
I know it's the norm for an age gap or height difference, but it feels off
