@Ghost I too have experienced this but I imagine that everyone has their own way of overcoming it. For me, even if someone does something stupid, if they really love me I would never leave them and even more so if they have been there for me before.
Anyways you're right, Ian will have to face many issues but maybe he'll be able to survive with it.

Ur kinda right about TJ being manipulative but both of him and Ian have a long past story together and they need each other (well im not good enough in English to explain what mean sorrryy ToT) Anyway TJ truly loves and same goes for Ian the thing is its difficult for Ian to choose between the one who was always there for him and with whom he had a difficult past and a new guy who make him live new things and who try to make him happy..
