@Athena Padro Yeah, but Claude has an excuse, literally sealed his heart off, and made a genuine effort at reconnecting rather quickly. This guy is an ass**** all on his own, and had the better part of two decades to reach out but didn't until she was visible to the public and he was forced to remember she exists.

@YablindAF_ifaskedmyPFP I like how they set up the opportunity for one though, and he very conciously made the decision to not do it.

I am glad they didn't gave father a redemption arc or something I want him just dead...
No, no. Don't bother actually getting rid of the original text before translating it. We can all just squint.
Also Ethan is super manipulative and I don't much care for it.
Feels like we haven't gotten a single look at who he really is.

Just because there's no malice in his actions does not mean he is not at fault. He feels entitled to her time and affection, like he feels entitled to everything else. He never has to think things through or deal with consequences because somebody else always deals with it for him. Despite her consistently telling him he needs to be more mindful he persists in his carefree attitude and behavior, never once even attempting to put himself in her or anyone elses shoes for a singular second. If he spent just a couple of moments thinking about how his actions made her feel they might be able to have a proper conversation and mend their relationship, but he never does.
He doesn't care why she stayed in the countryside so long, he doesn't care why she keeps pushing him away, he doesn't care why she resents him. All he cares about is that he isn't receiving the adoration he thinks he deserves from her. He's never once been concerned about her feelings, or what she wants. All he cares about is that she might hate him, not because he did something that hurt her, but because that will get in the way of receiving the love from her he feels entitled to. He's never once expressed any concern about her feelings that wasn't centered around making her like or praise him. He's selfish to the core and is incapable of realizing it. This is exactly the kind of thing she ran away to the countryside to avoid and it still followed her to fu** up her life. So yeah, she's being mean, but there's some people who won't listen no matter what you do or say, and sometimes the only way to get them to leave is to be a little mean.
I think she's being a bit much, but I'm on her side here. Ray has no idea how spoiled and entitled he is. He complains about being forced to study to take a throne she'll never be allowed to touch, he whines about being stuck at a school she was barred from going to because they knew she'd easily show him up is, she constantly asked him for more space and he constantly ignored that and followed her around like a puppy. No matter how much she asked him to stop or to think things through, or to stop whining, he kept doing it, kept bothering and harassing her, and kept unintentionally shoving it in her face that he'll be handed things she can't aquire no matter how hard she tries, so she ran away to avoid him because she knew he'd never listen to her or change.
Her not even reading his letter was cruel I'll admit, and I don't disagree with him coming to visit, but what did he do when they reunited? Found out she loved sword fighting, that she was joining a competition for it, then joined up for it without talking to her about it, looked down on her by assuming he would win thinking it would make her look up to him, when in reality if he had won all it would have done is made her feel like he had to show off that he's better than her at the one singular thing she'd managed to find joy in, to demonstrate that she couldn't even have that one small thing to call her own without him stealing it from her. Then he was condescending, assuming he needed to hold back or that she would collapse at the slightest pain. Then when she stormed off, rightfully angry, he ran after her recklessly, his carelessness directly resulting in her winding up injured protecting himself from his own stupidity, causing her to not be able to participate in the one thing she liked for months, with risk of being unable to do it ever again. 1/2
