This isn't an offensive strategy for you guys to become defensive, but an actual debate with the purpose to understand the actual characters.

@vevee I read them, but I also understood them. What I was trying to say while commenting on your opinion was to make you see the wrong of saying that Su Ah isn't a rapist and Juhyeok isn't a victim. They are exactly that, Su Ah forces a romantic relationship on somebody who clearly doesn't want one with him and Juhyeok has a complicated time to understand and reglate his own body due to Su Ah's intentional and unrequited intervention. Do they both hurt each other, sure, but that doesn't brush off the clear abuser of power and victim. It is a work of fiction, but I believe it is still important to distinguish these types of dynamics regardless of how they are portraited.

@vevee I believe you're disregarding some things in these characters' dynamic: first, Su Ah made Juhyeok depend on him by exposing him (against his will and after REPEATED clear regections) to his pheromones. Secondly, Su Ah has a very unhealthy obsession with Juhyeok, whom he doesn't see as another human being, but as a projection of his childhood friend, choosing to ignore his current personality, passions, dreams or beliefs. And last... And the MOST important, Juhyeok said NO, he said STOP, and it doesn't matter if he sais it in the moment of the initiation of sexual intercourse or during it, IF the partner doesn't stop, then it's RA**. Su Ah not only didn't stop, but put Juhyeok at risk and his only "defence" was that he wasn't himself... he wasn't thinking clearly... Why? Because of jealousy, of which he isn't even rightfully entitled (Juhyeok did not fully agree to be in any kind of romantic relationship with Su Ah). More than everything that I've said, I really hope you can see that even if this is a work of fiction, it doesn't matter if your partner initially agreed to s**, if they said to STOP or communicated in any way that they are not ok with it, at any point, then the right thing to do is to imediately stop, to make sure that everithing is fine and to comunicate.

@IVAN IS ALIVE. It is A LOT of ra** in this story, but in the novel I didn't have the feeling it was romanticised at all. Taekjoo doesn't fall for Zhenia's behavior and he does NOT get used to the ra**. He continues to search for escape routes even if they endanger his life. BUT both characters come to understand one another. Taekjoo comes to see Zhenya as a person, not only the monster he was raised to be, and Zhenya slowly starts to understand compassion (and the fear of loosing someone important to him) and that he doesn't NEED to be a monster all the time (he can be vulnerable around a trusted person).
