Those who are complaining about the slow-burn, you should maybe drop this because there is much more from where that came from. As I had mentioned before, this is not your average BL story. You have to spare some time to actually understand it and its characters.

I'd also like to mention the issue about non-con people have about this manhwa. If someone stops reading because of the non-con, then that is completely justified. In fact, as someone who was violated twice, I can completely understand non-con is a triggering topic or a deal breaker. However, I would like to point out that, again as some who was 🍇ed twice, THIS MANHWA DOES NOT SEXUALIZE 🍇. I repeat. THIS MANHWA DOES NOT SEXUALIZE 🍇. It's not portrayed in the best way here  but in the novel you can clearly see the rage building up in Taeui when Ilay did what he did. Otherwise, why would he do that entire risking-his-life-to-take-revenge on Ilay fiasco? There is 🍇 in the story but never once is it said to be positive thing or sexualized! The real problem is certain readers. They like to write comment that sexualize ra** instead of plainly critisizing what the character is doing. So please, you are completely free to stop reading if 🍇 is a triggering topic for you, but for g**'s sake don't come after others for not dropping it.

Annyways, back to my review. There's so much left to say about this story that I can't really write down for this one review only. But I would like to conclude that Passion by Yuuji is one of the most phenomenal, three dimensional, raw and unique BL's that I've ever come across. Calling the novel BL is also an understatement because it's actually written to be considered serious literature. Of course, like every other stories, this one has its flaws and to me, it is imperfectly perfect. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

Secondly, I will not shut up about the story. Holy shi is this one masterpiece. The author doesn't explain the entire thing to you so you have to have certain analytical skills and patience if you want to enjoy the story fully. They use symbolisms, hidden gestures, metaphors and so many other clever devises to make the story unfold like a puzzle piece. I genuinely love how it progressed in the novels (except for the second couple, I hate the second couple). The characters always remained consistant with their thoughts and actions, but as this is a BL, there were obviously some fanservice and classic BL cliches. Fair warning though, you will definately not be happy after this manhwa finishes. You have to wait until the second novel or the final one gets adapted to actually feel a sense of satisfaction, because in this novel, they barely fall in love. Taeui just has a little crush on Taeui but that's it, the actual shi starts unfolding in the novel. So if you're willing to wait for tender scenes, I'd suggest you not let your hope down after this one finishes.

Now for Taeui. Oh this poor boy is so heavily misunderstood and it hurts like he**. I'll say it loudly for the people in the back, TAEUI DOES NOT HAVE STOCKHOLM SYNDROME. People who yap about him having stockholm syndrome are usually the ones who do not know shi about psycology. First off, he tried to put Ilay in danger several times, and he did not fall in love with Ilay AS he was torturing him. He started developing small feelings when Ilay started treating him nicely. THAT IS NOT STOCKHOLM SYNDROME. It is a huge part of Taeui's personality that he is very easy to forgive and doesn't hold grudges. He doesn't 'hate' anyone. People need to stop calling him a patient of stockholm syndrome and start giving him credit for being resiliant and strong. He is not your typical bottom. He is headstrong and prideful, but also humble at times and loses his intuition with Ilay. Stop trying to fit him into a box because he's not just a 'power bottom', he is a well written character with complex human emotions.

Psst! Do you want a sneak peak of things Ilay does in the future?

Spoiler!
- Accidentally hurts Taeui, literally gets nightmares about it for the rest of his life
- Makes a deal with his special force team for them to kill him when Taeui dies because he doesn't wanna live without him
- Literally was about to give up all his fortune to Taeui when Tae asked him to as a joke
- Stopped touching Taeui without conest and obviously becoming much more careful with Taeui
- Takes an entire month of leave to help Taeui recover after he got a little cold
- Bombs country to save his boo, sacrificing his entire career and becoming wanted

Ilay, if you said he is only a murderious lunatic, you'd be wrong. If you said he is the biggest green flag, you'd also be wrong, and so many people fail to comprehand that as one sided characters are very common in Yaoi. Ilay for sure is f#cked up in the head, but at the same time, he also has a humane side which he only shows to Taeui. And if the novels are adapted, you will see that he becomes more human in general as a member who works with him says that he's become much less violent compared to how he was before Taeui. And, on top of that, if you notice subtle signals, you will realize how differently he actually treated Taeui from the start. A great example of that is how he almost never has gloves on when he's with Taeui (detention centre scene) because he only wears gloves when he expects to get blood on his fingers. Also if you noticed, during the scene in the hallway where Ilay was kissing Xinlu, he seemed totally unfocused and looking at Taeui but he is very attentive to Taeui whenever they get intimate. These are just a few of the many ways one can analyze Ilay's subtle gestures, even ones that weren't explicitly mentioned in the novel. About the thing with him saying sorry, I will forever defend about that. To me, you and average people, saying sorry might be a small step but imagine someone who can blow a stranger's head off without any hesitation apologizing to a guy, who beat him up, for doing something that is vanilla compared to the things he did in his past. Not very normal. While starting the novel, you need to have the understanding the most of the characters don't harbour the mentality of an average, well - functioning person. So yes, I do indeed think that 'Sorry' was a huge step for Ilay. And I think most of you already get the idea of how differently he's treating Taeui as of the current chapters. To summarise, he is neither a heartless beast neither nor a ray of sunshine. He is one problematic and complicated human.

As someone who has read all of the novels, I can proudly delcare Passion to be one of the most masterfully written BLs. There are so many things I'd like to say about this but first and foremost I'd like to go over how well written the characters are. All of the main characters break one dimensional stereotypes and they all have such complicated personalities which is very rare in Yaoi.
Ik y'all are confuzzled as he**, so i reccomend u re read the whole thing in bato to. The translations sre WAY better there. I read it again and all the confusion just flew away. Tho bato to uploads a bit later than Mangabuddy. But if u want a better translation, just be paitent.

There was a comment a looong time ago that predicted this. I want to go back and find it and high...

Actually it's not Inseo's fault Yi Hyeok's mom left. She was just being over dramatic. I'll let you know-

Spoiler!
So basically, Inseo saw Yi Hyeok's mom act suspicious and he observed. He realized Yi Hyeok's mom liked Inseo's mom the same way he liked Yi Hyeok. He told her about it in the picnic and asked something (I cant remember what TwT) which caused her to panic and eventually leave.

So guys, I'll be the one to explain:
- Before his Uncle goes to the joint training, he asked Taeui to help McKean if he asked for help. Then McKean asked Taeui to copy a data and gave a specific time to do it. Taeui did it but while copying the file, he felt that it was familiar and it looked like a chemical formula. Taeui did not complete the task since he felt that it was Jaeui's. He then tried calling his Uncle to ask about it but he was unable to reach him. He had a really bad feeling about the file that's why he went to Mckean and his bad feeling was confirmed after meeting him. The data was a chemical formula that Jaeui created.

Taeui doesn't really care even if they sold nuclear weapons or do something illegal with it. However, he couldn't stand the fact that his uncle illegally stole what his older brother had developed.

While talking to McKean, Ilay went to the room and there, Taeui found out that Ilay knew everything that his Uncle is trying to do and Ilay is helping his Uncle. Tae felt really bad and betrayed

Ilay sent Tae to the detention center. Here, Tae is gradually getting depressed. He's mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted. He felt that everything was piling up and he also had a severe headache. He got out of the detention after a day and he talked to his Uncle over the phone since Uncle is still at the joint training. Tae was really angry and got mad with Ilay as well. He got thrown out of Ilay's room when he burst out of anger. Ilay told him to calm down.

- The morning after, Taeui was still the same. He still has a headache and is still exhausted.
