dude he could have tried to find a knife or smth he could have used as a weapon when the other dude wasn't home, and attacked him when he came back home.

It kinda hit me that this story is basically calling out how we treat real people, we see a pretty face and suddenly we’re blind. We excuse the most messed-up behaviour, murderers, abusers, RAPIST, sadistic people, just because they look good or seem charming (pretty privilege. And now I’m starting to think the author did that on purpose, to make us realise how easily we fall for appearances and let awful people slide. (just a thought idk)

I understand that this is fictional, but it genuinely makes me wonder what's wrong with the authors to even conceive of an idea like this for fun?
