Well, this is all because the so-called gods are actually mortals who were just playing the game until they came here, except for Nebula, who truly knows and cares about them (my personal POV). He is simply respecting their freedom. A time will come in the future when he must choose which path to take—either continue with magic or let them remain mythology for future generations, alongside the rise of nuclear weapons.
