I'm guessing that the emperor would change rules for his relationship to work with Paul that's why he is overworking himself and why he is keeping everything in his grasp. Which like he make sure that Paul would stay in citrine for a year like he make a due that's why from then on he work his a** off. One of the reasons  why he keep his letters short is that maybe he didn't want to blurt out everything to paul. But oh well it's just a theory.

Paul love the emperor but her "surname" symbolizes her identity. I mean she worked hard  to be acknowledged as winter. It hurts cause it's like choosing between herself and her love for the emperor. It's like "loving you would lose myself so I rather lose you than to lose me" that sort of thing.

I'm still rooting for Jo  but it pains me that TJ and Ian couldn't let go of each other even tho their relationship is painful. My heart feels heavy.
