from what I've seen in the comments, I think I like this version better than the novel version. We see that all her work to build a relationship with support characters and her husband pay off, cause they're now all supporting her. 
Honestly I think novel readers who aren't happy with this just like to see Edith in pain and suffering😂
Like I'm tired of seeing her suffer, she's gone through enough let her rest pls😭

@Arwen Even if he wasn't there, he was told how they passed, so it isn't hard for him to picture their pain and suffering as they died. That's what scares him, hence the nightmares and trauma.
