The Japanese back in ww2 used to do horrible stuff to south koreans, most notably using their women as tools for physical pleasure (r*pe, forced prostitution, etc) to their military men. Not just s.koreans actually but in other countries they "visited". If i recall correctly, they also used korean men as additional troops. So its really a deeply rooted hate, particularly from the older generation

And if big brother cousin marries ugly's sister, and ugly marries cordelia, their children are practically siblings too.
