Except hes to "human" I came here to read an action, fantasy-ish story not realism. This guy has just sat there and whined for 6 chapters now... I'm not saying he should just understand and except everything from the get go but this is just boring. Hopefully it gets better, I'll give it a few more chapters but as of right now I think I'll drop this.

No his dad has the "fragment of brilliant light" powers (one of the angle looking guys). He called him a traitor because the angle guys where trying to kill the shadow monarch in the past (like the other monarchs where) but now is protecting him for reason you will learn later. Hope this helped anyone else who was confused.
