@Samurai honestly, Uncle Cheng seemed more of a father-figure to Xu Qing than his own father... then again, the father-son relationships portrayed in this series are civil at best and downright antagonistic at worst. Kind of makes me worried that, if Xu Qing had a son, their relationship might turn out the same way.

I honestly think Xu Qing's father only really helps him out solely out of obligation towards continuing the family lineage and couldn't care less about his child as an individual. This chapter kind of supports the notion seeing as the whole issue with the dowry is mostly about how to save face. It only tells me that the father only sees his role as a parent purely as a duty and not because he has a genuine emotional investment in his son or his wellbeing.

@Theo Kolp that's a bit unfortunate... but unless you have an idea as to where you want your future to go and the determination to pursue it against what your family wants you to be, then it would be safer to get into a lucrative field first, establish yourself financially, and then work on something you're passionate about once you're able to feasibly fund it yourself.

@someoddguy I don't think you can really call him that since, you know, he actually tried to save Yejin despite the fact he actually could have died if there hadn't been anyone to intervene.

@Jesus Christ say what you will about Hans, but he's actually brave enough to stand up against thugs who are clearly stronger than him and he won't hesitate to stand his ground... he is a REAL man.

@Idk because Yoobin has at least asked for consent in earlier chapters and is more open with how she feels about Hans. Whereas Yejin probably wouldn't have had the feelings she has for Hans if 1- he wasn't packing a huge sausage, and 2- if he hadn't stepped in between her and that huge Russian guy a few chapters ago. The problem with Yejin is that, while she might have some feelings for Hans, she's mostly selfish and wants him for how he can satisfy her.

@Davids that's what's called being book-smart but not having any street-smarts.

Academia and theory can only do so much until you're faced with an actual situation where you have to apply what you've learned and turn it into some semblance of skill.
