Going to say this now, but I highly doubt this comment will even go through. The father's a f**king ass**** and a hypocrite. Nagging on his son about getting a job even though he's able to make money through alternative means and then has the audacity to just wave off the fact that his own wife is a f**king gambler... parent of the year...

@Morumotto I'd say otherwise, its just every country has unique familly customs. If anything, his father is just concerned hence pressures him to get a stable paying job and not just rely on risky stock market. And lastly the parents seems already wealthy and successful to just gamble and leisurely spends their remaining time.
@King Dejesuss the whole "different cultures" argument being used to justify either controlling behavior or enforcing a cultural normative where one group of people has less rights than another-- such as freedom to choose one's career path, one's spouse, or one's lifestyle and how it can be sustained-- is not only why I don't respect Sharia Law, I also despise the Chinese Communist Party. The world should either move towards egalitarianism as a natural progression of balance between the powers of governance and the people being governed, or mutual destruction to all parties involved.
@Morumotto i think it's pretty normal in asian country. Even my parents nag me everytime to choose engineering or doctor
@BAMBAM or... you choose a career path that suits your interests, become successful at it, and then have every right to tell your parents to go sc*** off because they would rather control their children's lives rather than changing their own.
@Morumotto I dont know if you would read this comment but I am a med student and the only reason I am a med student is because my mom is from china and she doesnt want me to be behind her cousin's son who is the same age as me. My family back in China is all like that and because of that influence I have somewhat become like that too.
@Theo Kolp that's a bit unfortunate... but unless you have an idea as to where you want your future to go and the determination to pursue it against what your family wants you to be, then it would be safer to get into a lucrative field first, establish yourself financially, and then work on something you're passionate about once you're able to feasibly fund it yourself.
