Yay happy Ruby and Ellen are mending their strained relationship one step at a time

Finally!! To be honest I was getting quite frustrated with the stunted character development in the past few chapters. Maybe it was because I saw my old self in Ruby. I kept wallowing in my traumas and kept thinking the worst of people, even though the whole time there were people in my life who genuinely and unconditionally cared for me. I kept gaslighting myself that everyone hated me so there's no point in reaching out for help. How incredibly stupid and self-sabotaging I was. If only I had just talked it out from the beginning, I wouldn't have to suffer alone for so long. I sobbed when Ruby finally saw the light and realized Izek has and will always trust, cherish, protect, and love her. This chapter was so powerful.

I’m a Jo fan but I hate how author-nim suddenly writes him to be manipulative and obsessive with Ian. Jo in the beginning of the story was fine. He was just this normal guy who was captivated by Ian’s handsomeness. That dynamic between th where the guy with a dark past meets a normal guy that can heal him and help him live a peaceful normal life worked well and didn’t need to change. Author-nim changing Jo’s character halfway through the story and lowkey making him into a copy of Matthew from Under the Greenlight is disappointing.

The hate for Ellen is so irrational. Ellen has been friends with Freya for 10+ years so she's obviously going to have a lot of trust in her. It doesn't help that Freya is a master manipulator that has manipulated EVERYONE around her all these years. Don't blame Ellen for not immediately believing that Freya is a terrible person. She's not stupid at all. Obviously the readers know both sides so they know Freya is a b!tch. If readers were in Ellen's position, they'd also be clueless since they would only know one side of the actual situation.

Some of yall are way too blood thristy. Why are you mad that Ellen was being rational and stopped Izek from publically k!ll!ng the maid??? Izek could've been arrested or ruin his reputation if he went through with it. I also hate Marta for insulting Ruby, but k!ll!ng someone for saying mean things is way too extreme. Being fired is the most rational punishment for Marta.

Also stop hating on Ellen for being conflicted. She's trauma bonded to Marta and sees her as even more trusting and loving than her own mother. Ellen barely discovered Marta's true colors so of course it'll be hard for her to 100% accept the truth right away.
