Every time he uses something technological in the medieval era, it breaks my immersion. The author has a justification for it, but it ruins all the excitement. He is a mage and a knight, meaning a magic knight, and using technology for this kind of thing is unnecessary. He could even use technology, but it didn't need to be so extravagant!
It's really getting lame that he can't kill anyone. They used that investigation group, but this group only works when they go after the protagonist. When the other nobles raise h*l, nothing happens! This author is messing around!
Pets!
It would be awesome if this world went to war with other worlds and they didn't have any knights to stand against them. Then, what those mages did would be exposed, causing a massive rebellion against them to the point where many would try to get rid of them, and then the protagonist would have to save the world because of that!
This guy is so "impressive" that, in the past life, he doesn't seem to have done anything useful to avenge what happened to the protagonist's family. And, in this life, he spent two years without investigating anything, chasing a single clue: the protagonist. Seriously, if he had investigated... With the inflated ego that noble had, he must have made several enemies, but nothing of the sort was presented!
The protagonist could put all the blame on this guy, saying he was responsible for his lord's death and that he tried to use it to start a war between the clans!
"I understand the pain of him hitting 30 without a single strand of hair and feeling sad!
Now it is a matter of knowing whether he will eliminate the guys, imprison them in another dimension, or just let them go with a warning.
Because he doesn't seem to be on his guard about it.

You are splurging all of this on a plan that is going to fail without anyone even intervening!
