In the novel, those dead bodies are actually parents who hid their children from the red haired vampire. After MC sent the vampire away, he found the children, then he put the dead bodies to his storage so he can give them proper burial. When the children saw this, they thought their parents are being sucked up to heaven which MC didn't corrected. 🥲 I was kind of expecting to see that heartbreaking scene.
