@BL is addictive but the back story isn't a excuse for his action, its its a explanation for his trashy personality. He’s always been starved for love and attention, and though he’s grown up, he’s still that same child craving what he never had. That’s where his obsession comes from. He is quite simply a child, he knows nothing. He was never taught to value himself or others—and while that's how a personality is built, it doesn't excuse his actions. He could have learned in many ways. Some people grow up in abusive environments and don't become abusers, while others do; it varies from person to person. Pain is a universal experience; what defines character is the choice to either break the cycle or replicate it. If he had access to other perspectives and still chose to stay in the role of victim or aggressor, then that was a conscious choice.
