@Whatever I am not sure if this helps/works for you. I also faced the same situation many times. First asking them politely not to disturb us. If they are not listening I will do the same that irritates them the most. Like in my case I had an important work the morning but my roomates were laughing loudly and were discussing about travel plans all night(which they also know that they won't be going for). I politely said to not to disturb me they didn't listed. Then one day I had weekend and they had a important work in the early morning, I kept the light on all night in the room(they hate light on while sleeping)saying I had an important task that should be completed by night(but actually I didn't had any work was watching some series😁).
Need not to be rude or need to fight. They just had to get the taste of their own medicine.
If they confront rather than being polite even after that you don't need to be silent can be rude.
