MC even mentioned how the "father" "cares" when you show potential but left to die if you are "trash", not about being illegitimate or not. He is a trash father like many other manga/manhua/manhwa fathers, it is a common trope to answer why MC is going through whatever scenario... it is a simple reasoning, as popular as "power of friendship and love".
