@Your average girl I just said that I'm happy to see someone that can speak a little German :) And...tbh your sentence made me a little laugh.
The words are correct but the sentence structure is very weird. The correct sentence would be: "ooo! Uhh ...ich kann das nicht verstehen--"
But it's still pretty good! Are you English? Cuz the sentence structure is exactly how it would be in English.
Sorry if my English is a little weird to read cuz I'm not really good at English...

Eine alternative wäre auch: "Das verstehe ich nicht" it sounded a little like a robot in the way you said it. Or just VERY simple: "Was?" 
And if you don't know that, "was" means "what" :)

@AGermanCat ahh no- I'm not native at English and because I know it's grammatically incorrect including the sentence structure 😅 but for some reason I go with the English thing..
