@Tehehehehehehe I agree with you. People just see what's shown to them from the start. Had it been from Karloi's point of view he'd have been a very pitiful character himself. But no one gives enough attention to him to understand his pain. But idk why I can understand his pain very clearly it's like I've gone through smth like that
@Sun   yeah it's sad how people are saying that the rue is pityful for 80 chapter and karloi is just for 5 chapter I mean can still feel that Rue is pityful and karloi was also pityful this whole series they are just being like this because Rue is a girl? I mean I don't know why else they will ignore his suffering while prioritising Rue's one and I don't think Rue is Happy now either way both of them have suffered and I can never blame karloi
@Tehehehehehehe so you've seen that comment too. It's honestly so frustrating to see that people are blaming all of this on Karloi when he had no freaking choice!!! Had I been in his place, I'd have honestly done worse to her. I would definitely regret it. But his situation is unfathomable. She came as the loving daughter of the man who killed his family. Many times tried to sleep with him. Showed no emotion whatsoever at first. Anyone at his place what assume that she wants the throne. And even after that he tried to be kind to her because he saw rue in her. I'm not saying that he was very good with her. I'm saying he has no reason to be good to her. He only loved Rue and could have never known that she was her. They both are the victims of one person. And I think too that people are putting her more because she's a girl and he's a man and he should be tough and what not. But in reality everyone has a breaking point. And both of them have apparently reached it
@Sun   yeah even I think now people are being baised I mean yeah she have gone through a lot but it's duke's fault not karloi's what dose people even expect from him I'm not sure people hating him more now more then the Duke at this point .
@Tehehehehehehe they're all just sadists. There's literally not one reason to hate him if you have the ability to reason. Otherwise foolish people can do anything, no one can stop them anyway. She just hates him because SHE is the one who chose him and not her mother. And because Karloi couldn't trust her complt. But let's be real, no one would have trusted her just because she asked to. Had he been a normal person, yes ofc he would have. But he's a king who couldn't just endanger all of his people's lives as well as his on a woman's words
@Tehehehehehehe there's a saying that hurt people hurt people. In real life, and in good stories, no one is 100% a villain. They always have some trauma, some love, some heart break because everyone accumulates those thongs as they move through life.

Karloi was hurt, defensive, and angry, and he made the conscious decision to take the anger and pain and use it as justification to hurt someone else that was a victim. Someone that he *could* hurt, someone that he knew he had at least some power over.

Was it understandable? Sure. Can we see why he felt he was justified? Yes. He still made the decision. And that's the biggest different between him and Rue, he had the choice not to hurt her, but he chose to anyways. She was magically compelled to silence, her choices were taken away, and she still did not go out of her way to hurt him.

Is he evil? No. Does he deserve sympathy? Sure. Does he deserve forgiveness? If it were me, I would not forgive him.
@Heather Marie   I'm not saying Rue has to forgive him but the fans who's bad mouthing him who'd probably do more worst if they were in his situation I am taking about them. Karloi tried to trust her but just point a person who'd trust his enemies daughter he's not g** just another human we all can see how much he actually care about Rue he just didn't know that the girl he is with is actually Rue . Sure Rue doesn't deserve this but things karloi been through I don't think he deserved it either. And That time Rue know his situation too yes she doesn't have any option because of her mother she'd say it if it wasn't for her mother but The Fact that her mom died it is not related to Karloi as well so. Her mother commited suicide because she knew that the duke was using her to control her daughter. It happened a while ago too so it wasn't karloi's fault but what's the point everyone is blaming him anyway
@Tehehehehehehe well I always had my suspicions that if her mother came to know that she was the source of her only daughter's misery she'd give away her life in a heartbeat. I always knew she'd do this because any mother would do the same. It was justifiable for Rue to suffer everything for her mother and it is also justifiable that her mother died to free her daughter. I'm saddened about the fact that her last moments must have been immensely painful. To think that you were inevitably the reason your daughter suffered so much all these years. But it was fate all along, everything here. And in his whole manhwa there's only one person to hate and antagonize and that's the bas**** Duke. Everyone other Han him is blue and grey in their characters. No one completely or even partially black. All of them are people moulded by their sufferings and circumstances and thus have very different personalities.
@Heather Marie everything you said is true. Karloi's anger for Duke's loving daughter is as much justified as Rue's anger in karloi for not trusting her. And I think at the end of the day it's still Rue's choice whether she wants to accept or forgive him or not. And it won't be a surprise if she doesn't. For now, I just wish both of them mental stability. But the sad part is not all this but that everyone is badmouthing Karloi as if HE'S the villain of this story. That's actually a common characteristic for every side protagonist, when you see the story through someone else's eyes all the whole then suddenly changing the narrative and trying to make the other's actions justified does little good. But I think more than her hate for Karloi, Rhe hates herself for choosing him because it's clearly understandable for him as the king to not simply trust on the words of his enemy's daughter. For all he knew, she could be brain washing him. But all in all it's a tough road which I think is neither of their faults. They're just two humans broken beyond repair.
