@Tehehehehehehe there's a saying that hurt people hurt people. In real life, and in good stories, no one is 100% a villain. They always have some trauma, some love, some heart break because everyone accumulates those thongs as they move through life.

Karloi was hurt, defensive, and angry, and he made the conscious decision to take the anger and pain and use it as justification to hurt someone else that was a victim. Someone that he *could* hurt, someone that he knew he had at least some power over.

Was it understandable? Sure. Can we see why he felt he was justified? Yes. He still made the decision. And that's the biggest different between him and Rue, he had the choice not to hurt her, but he chose to anyways. She was magically compelled to silence, her choices were taken away, and she still did not go out of her way to hurt him.

Is he evil? No. Does he deserve sympathy? Sure. Does he deserve forgiveness? If it were me, I would not forgive him.

@Heather Marie   I'm not saying Rue has to forgive him but the fans who's bad mouthing him who'd probably do more worst if they were in his situation I am taking about them. Karloi tried to trust her but just point a person who'd trust his enemies daughter he's not g** just another human we all can see how much he actually care about Rue he just didn't know that the girl he is with is actually Rue . Sure Rue doesn't deserve this but things karloi been through I don't think he deserved it either. And That time Rue know his situation too yes she doesn't have any option because of her mother she'd say it if it wasn't for her mother but The Fact that her mom died it is not related to Karloi as well so. Her mother commited suicide because she knew that the duke was using her to control her daughter. It happened a while ago too so it wasn't karloi's fault but what's the point everyone is blaming him anyway
@Heather Marie everything you said is true. Karloi's anger for Duke's loving daughter is as much justified as Rue's anger in karloi for not trusting her. And I think at the end of the day it's still Rue's choice whether she wants to accept or forgive him or not. And it won't be a surprise if she doesn't. For now, I just wish both of them mental stability. But the sad part is not all this but that everyone is badmouthing Karloi as if HE'S the villain of this story. That's actually a common characteristic for every side protagonist, when you see the story through someone else's eyes all the whole then suddenly changing the narrative and trying to make the other's actions justified does little good. But I think more than her hate for Karloi, Rhe hates herself for choosing him because it's clearly understandable for him as the king to not simply trust on the words of his enemy's daughter. For all he knew, she could be brain washing him. But all in all it's a tough road which I think is neither of their faults. They're just two humans broken beyond repair.
