Also, eventho I've never tried, I know how to cook rice by steaming. I even know the new way of cooking rice by half boil-half steaming. Still, never heard any of them can explode. @Gakuku You can cook rice in a pressure cooker. It's supposed to make it really fluffy. And of course in our make superspecific items society, there's pressure cookers prioritized toward rice cooking. As for the kaboom issue, when water turns to steam it expands, a lot. Meanwhile, a pressure cooker is meant to hold in that steam as the food is cooked, so it's tightly sealed during cooking. So a flawed pressure cooker at high steam pressure means catastrophic failure when that flaw causes the sealing to fail.
