@Katherine I would not suggest not making eye contact, I dont think that solves any problems. Infact it makes you less confident and sets you up for a harder time the next time you are asked to present.
Instead try to present to specific people in the crowd. What I mean by this is when you are presenting instead of focusing on the crowd try to focus on your teacher or judge or any classmate that wants to lesson, make eyecontact with them and give the presentation to them. If you are focused on actually explaining your topic to one of them its likely you will forget about the crowd. Also change the person u are presenting or making eyecontact with every 30 sec to 1 min and focus on someone else then its fine to come back to this person after another min.
