@Marioleen Usually money comes hand-in-hand with political power; Espically in the world they've set up. Everyone adores Bloden because of their money, meaning the power they have is most likely greater.

@Polarity true, everyone wants Ilya for her money, like her ex, but it's implied that money can't buy status and rank and those hold a lot of power. The Bloden Family is richer than most, probably the richest in the kingdom, but they don't have a lot of political status, since Ilya was worried about the problems her ex's family could bring to her family due to her break up since they are a rank above the Bloden.
