The crime rate increases related to women are mainly due to problem with law implementation and law making. There are plenty of laws related to crimes related to women but corruption helps criminals to not feel fear about doing crimes. Most people can get out of jail with corruption no matter which crime it is for in my country, don't know about other countries.

Laws didn't magically "disappeared". In the past, victims were even more silenced/ostracized. Cynically, laws were never this well/good in the past and fortunately we made significant progress even world-wide.

But irony has it that some ppl willingly rote their brains, rendering them less and less able to behave in ways socially acceptable. Such thing was harder to achieve in the past, but Intrnet unleashed many potentials -- among which : rotting your own brain. And no, I don't target (just) kids : it's only what Science found and finds times and times once there's enough data and duration and subjects and so on.
