That too falls under the umbrella of patriarchy , a system largely established and upheld by men, but one that certain women also participate in,,,. In fact, domestic patriarchy is frequently reinforced by women who were themselves raised within it and taught to pass it on.

 

Patriarchy isn't just about men controlling women — it's about a system of roles and expectations that condition all of us, and it survives when both men and women continue to uphold those roles without questioning them.
