Yeah, I expected this type of response. It's quite similar to, "I knew people who became rich with bitcoin so working hard and saving your money isn't the only way.".
You seem to think you've got a "gotcha" by asking lots of "what if" questions. Those are all variable that need to be carefully considered in each situation so I don't have an absolute answer for you. Mostly, you have to use good judgement and take the non-interesting paths of the highest success rates.
Sure, you are correct that there is more than one path to our shared goal, however there are paths that are far more successful on average than others and there are also paths that more often than not destroy people. It seems that you are also one of those people who won't listen to success stories because you prefer your concept of chaotic non-parenting and my family's method requires lots of invested effort and proper planning. You are also correct that there is nothing guranteed in life, only strategies that work more or less often.
