I have only read some parts of the story so I'm a little confused. Could someone please explain what was the point of those two pretending to be in a relationship in front of Daon?

I could be wrong here but I think the both of them pretended to be together because they knew they both liked Daon. So as to not lose Daon to each other, they just lied to him saying they were dating. If I'm not mistaken, Jasmin was the one that suggested this first
