@Tsukki It's because she thinks he hates her since she turned her back on him and married that PoS emperor so it's better to disguise herself as someone else for the time being, also it's far more convincing to use that lie rather than "I'm the girl who married your enemy and I died while pregnant with your enemy's child and now I want revenge, I'm sorry I betrayed you now help me get revenge.".

@Siegward She didn't marry him because she wanted to. Plus, the ml is no better. He's a loser who lost his position in a coup, so imagine the kind of position he put all of his supporters in, including the fl? It's been 16 years, and he's just laying down and letting people take advantage of him. He's not a suitable partner either.

@Tsukki Telling someone that takes a tall order. It's not an easy thing to believe at all, so why would she start off with telling him that? What if he just deemed her crazy and threw her out? Plus, even though she didn't choose the king, it's got to be awkward for her to work with the person she used to be with, and probably feels betrayed by her. He could hate her for all she knows. It's better to use a different identity.

Just imagine all of the transmigrator stories. Imagine if they told everybody that they were a different person from another world, put inside someone else's body...they would all be sent to the asylum and be called insane. Their life in the other world would be over before it could even start.

Yeah I know she didn't marry him because she wanted to, but she felt deeply guilty for it. She felt that she betrayed the ML because of that, and genuinely thought he hates her for it.
