@nana What kind of person would it take for Mok-Yeon's obsession to be justified and understandable? (Let me clarify: I'm just asking, I'm interested, I'm not trying to attack you in any way!)

This is just my opinion, but I think that's the whole point: the feeling of being in love defies logic and reason, and an obsession like Mok-Yeon's would be unhealthy for anyone.
So, it's hard to imagine a person falling madly in love, then introducing their beloved to their friends and family, and all their friends and family immediately falling in love with them too because they're so amazing that they drive everyone crazy. Most likely, that's not the case.
I even remembered a curious moment from the history. You often read descriptions of the mad love between Napoleon and Josephine (obviously, everything is exaggerated, romanticized, and distorted), but I remember how others describing Josephine as something like: "Nothing special," "Ordinary."😂 A person in love sees the object of their love differently than other people.

@ItsNotOverYet i understand what you're getting at, but i asked in context to this storyline, it's not particularly about nanjo but mokyeon's behavior towards the whole thing,
during s1 while we saw that mokyeon was getting attached to nanjo and even growing real feelings towards him, he was still rational enough to be unbothered(?) enough about it,
but suddenly switch to s2, it's like he's lost all sanity, to the point where he's unable to even be alive without nanjo in his head, which i get might be from the psychological shock from things ending so drastically and suddenly, but still it felt like the whole change was a tad bit sudden especially in context of their relationship.
