@nana maybe nanjo broke one of those wish sticks 🥀🥀(I forgot the name of that thing)
And instead of wishing for the other bottoms name, he accidentally said mokyens name.
(Sorry I'm dumb)
@nana What kind of person would it take for Mok-Yeon's obsession to be justified and understandable? (Let me clarify: I'm just asking, I'm interested, I'm not trying to attack you in any way!)
This is just my opinion, but I think that's the whole point: the feeling of being in love defies logic and reason, and an obsession like Mok-Yeon's would be unhealthy for anyone.
So, it's hard to imagine a person falling madly in love, then introducing their beloved to their friends and family, and all their friends and family immediately falling in love with them too because they're so amazing that they drive everyone crazy. Most likely, that's not the case.
I even remembered a curious moment from the history. You often read descriptions of the mad love between Napoleon and Josephine (obviously, everything is exaggerated, romanticized, and distorted), but I remember how others describing Josephine as something like: "Nothing special," "Ordinary."😂 A person in love sees the object of their love differently than other people.
@Lolipop one wish willow!!
@nana i seriously think nanjo has some kind of personality disorder (bipolar, bpd) people with this disorder tend to get attached very quickly/ have a fp(favourite person) mokyeons fp is most definitely nanjo he tends to get really manic to the point of boderline insanity about him
@ItsNotOverYet i understand what you're getting at, but i asked in context to this storyline, it's not particularly about nanjo but mokyeon's behavior towards the whole thing,
during s1 while we saw that mokyeon was getting attached to nanjo and even growing real feelings towards him, he was still rational enough to be unbothered(?) enough about it,
but suddenly switch to s2, it's like he's lost all sanity, to the point where he's unable to even be alive without nanjo in his head, which i get might be from the psychological shock from things ending so drastically and suddenly, but still it felt like the whole change was a tad bit sudden especially in context of their relationship.
@Nissoukou honestly yeah that would quite literally make a lot of sense bcs he definitely experiences extremes in emotions
@nana Just keep in mind that this is only my opinion, but I feel like Mokyeon shows a lot of traits that remind me of BPD, especially his extreme fear of abandonment. Looking back at his childhood, he was always lonely and seemed terrified of being left by the people he loved. Even as a child, he had a tendency to hurt himself when he was abandoned by his parents.
And then he met Nanjo, and for the first time, he found someone he genuinely loved and became deeply attached to. His fear of losing Nanjo became so overwhelming that he could no longer think rationally, which I think explains why he ended up doing what he did at the end of S1 and even now, that same fear and attachment seem to fuel his obsession with Nanjo. It feels like he’s still struggling with that same fear of losing the one person he can’t bear to be without.
@nana Oh, I get it. I see season 1 a little differently.
I could be wrong, so this is just my opinion, but it seemed to me that the entire 1st season showed us the development of his obsession, how it intensified (i.e., worsened) with each passing day.
So, his obsession began from the very first meeting.
1) He decided to "steal" his friend's boyfriend (yes, Mok-Yeon and Sunhwa cheated on their partners, but I don't think they slept with/stole each other's partners; that's not usually done with friends).
2) He decided to lie to Sunhwa.
3) He manipulated Nanjo to get not just s*x from him, but relationships and dates.
4) He was jealous because of Sunhwa.
5) He ripped out his ear piercing.
6) He slept with Sunhwa just to keep him from going to Nanjo.
7) He found out everything about Nanjo's company and his family.
8) He ran to Nanjo's work out of emotion.
9) He decided to reveal their relationship right in the middle of s*x with Sunhwa.
If you take each of these events separately, it’s like, “Well, ok, it happens,” but if you take them all together, it’s the development of an obsession.
He said different things out loud and in his head, like that confident "he'll get bored quickly." But he was just a big talker. That's let him down too. He realized too late that he was hooked.
Of course, such obsession and dependence doesn't seem healthy. Mok-Yeon probably has psychological issues, otherwise he would have dealt with it more easily and calmly. (Perhaps the first chapters of Season 2 about his childhood weren't just shown to us as a simple "feel sorry for the top", but as an explanation for his psychological problems.)
