@Abyssalis that's what you don't seem to understand, the issue wasn't his actual strength, it was the fact that he had the pressure of the royal house on him. Royalty like that can sic the whole army on him for a perceived slight against them, while he could give a good fight against them, he'd have to kill innocent soldiers following orders and there's also the fact he was trying to cause change from the inside of the court, but lost his way on that front due to the resistance of the court and the royalty. Most people tend to underestimate the disproportionate power and leverage royal blood held in times like the setting of this world. He could have been executed for as little as sneezing in the presence of that brat prince and as a commoner he couldn't fight back without becoming an enemy of the whole country
