Yeah I don't get how he can lose that much willpower from being the strongest in the academy just because some weak and cocky prince were barking at him.

@Abyssalis it was so he could get money for his dad also royalty has a lot of power over commoners, the brat prince could have had him executed for the slightest mistake yet he only fired him

I mean he could solo bosses the prince lost against, sure he did everything passive for money and to not get on his bad side. BUT how could he forget his time with his friends and the strength he has just because he had that barking dog he had no choice but to listen to?
He endured well but lost the spark in himself which is kinda lacking in willpower for someone that strong (Just my opinion while comparing MC's ik I wouldn't be able to do it myself🫨)

@Abyssalis that's what you don't seem to understand, the issue wasn't his actual strength, it was the fact that he had the pressure of the royal house on him. Royalty like that can sic the whole army on him for a perceived slight against them, while he could give a good fight against them, he'd have to kill innocent soldiers following orders and there's also the fact he was trying to cause change from the inside of the court, but lost his way on that front due to the resistance of the court and the royalty. Most people tend to underestimate the disproportionate power and leverage royal blood held in times like the setting of this world. He could have been executed for as little as sneezing in the presence of that brat prince and as a commoner he couldn't fight back without becoming an enemy of the whole country

@Neil Groves bro I didn't. While I call him a barking dog ik he got the power of the whole country and just as he should the MC played it carefully so nothing happened but he nerfed himself in his mind and forgot the strength he had before.
I mean he had it rough but Compared to some other suffering MC's he lost his spark easily

@Abyssalis ah, sorry for that, I misunderstood. He did lose his spark quickly/easily from our point of view, but from the character's perspective it had been years of being ground down
