@Lyndon The way I delivered my response earlier wouldn't make sense brought by my eagerness to share my thoughts about your established point.

This current case set-up felt like the narrative burden is placed on the protagonist as if his present predicaments are his to solve when it shouldn't work that way. For starters, Conan needs a reliable ally who will be on the front line as a vital force that will defend him from the Organization. It's clear that Rum takes the initiative, but it's still unclear on what methods or strategies he is intend to do as a means in order to accomplish his objective—whether to confirm his suspicions or something else.
