Finished the novel and it was great. People have to remember when reading this story that the world, and the people in it, are in a really messed up place. Life means nothing to them anymore. They figure it's over for humanity so acting human, especially for some of the main characters, just never crosses their minds. That is honestly one of the things that makes this story so unique. Without the depraved actions of the characters, the reader would never understand the depth of despair that nearly every human feels thanks to the anomalies. For me, I dont think any of the NC scenes were se**, but due to the nature of guiding these S and A class Awakened, the act was necessary. Honestly, this was by far the best Esper/Guide story I have ever read.

Bro, we must have read different novels. It's very very clearly ra**. Yugeon calls it ra** and several of his rapists do too. Two of the four abusers acknowledge what they are doing is not right and another comes pretty close. They also acknowledge that they are abusing and torturing him in general. Prolonged physical contact for guiding doesn't necessitate ra** at all. We are given a specific example of a very powerful A class who treats her guide very kindly and considerately. It's established in the novel that abusing your guide physically or mentally is not the accepted norm. People in the novel have become accustomed to death but that doesn't mean that outright sadistic cruelty (like we see from all four awakened at Erewhon) is acceptable.
Not a bro, and I never said it wasnt ra**. Did you read what I wrote with an open or closed mind? I guess closed since you misunderstood everything I wrote. I would explain it again, but that would be pointless.
But I will clarify what I meant by "the act" and that is the act of s**, not ra**. If you read the novel as you say you have then that is something you should've picked up on.
I think it's you who have come up with a really strange interpretation of events in the novel. I don't really think I need an open mind for actions clearly depicted by the author and the characters as ra**. S** isn't always necessary to guide and it definitely doesn't have to be forced or painful. Nowhere in the novel is it established that abuse or force is needed. The main character is however forced to have s** multiple times when guiding isn't even required. How is that not just plain s** with no pretense?
During the NC scenes in the novel, having actual s** is the thing that heals the ML the best and the fastest. I never said it wasn't ra**. I was talking about the act of s** itself regardless of it being ra** or not. The act of ra** and other abuses better paints a picture of how desperate the situation in the world is and little Awakened people care for others because they all know they're going to die early for one reason or another. I dont know if you're being deliberately obtuse about this or if your moral high horse is galloping too fast for you to understand what I am saying.
