@Ella okay, I like that point of view, I might have overlooked his workfield and how that has play a role in his personality, (kind of still not in support of the staff and employees mistreatment), but I get that there it might be a bigger picture.
And I just wanted to clarify that I never meant that he was a bad person for his mood flings, he's clearly a victim of not only his family but this world building.
@Nymala Yes, I see what you mean. I don't fully excuse Chase's behaviour; as you said, his treatment of the staff is definitely too much. However, I think Chase believes that 'everyone is an ass**** until proven otherwise.' I repeat, I don't justify this behaviour, but that's the nature of the character as I understood the author described him. Despite his ups and downs, I really like how the author portrayed him, but I had to reread the novel multiple times to fully appreciate it. And, yes, like you, I also think he's a victim. The kind of environment he grew up in massively influenced his personality: being a dominant alpha, thrown into the spotlight as an actor since childhood... All of that put him in a position to be objectified, without, among other things, having real help from his family to prevent him from being traumatized by it all. Anyway, I never thought you considered him a bad person; it's just that I'm particularly protective of my blorbos 😁
