a mothers love is amazing! But what I noticed with my charge was she tried to hide her pain with indifference so as to hide it from her family. Because she wanted them to remain strong in their hearts! (And during the blitz a lot of people died in the bombing)
she was truly an amazing woman who used to love trying to 'gently' invite the newer staff over to help her get ready for the day using the most angelic voice and manner, then swap her tone to that of a swearing sailors voice just so that she could try to catch the newbies out.
