@Jura I feel like there are a lot of moving parts going on here. The author is a good writer and between the expressions they are giving each other vs non-elves combined with their behaviors and words up until now, the author is really layering lots of complex motivations and feelings.
There might be a bit of courage there... but I sense a whole lot more arrogance, obligation, foolishness, pride, etc... than rarified "courage".
@Prinzinc yep it is also author is incredible due to sheer fact he was able to make mc one of the strongest character in super short term without it being so out of place. i cant wait to see what he will conjured up
@Prinzinc What I find respectable is that they may be arrogant, but they have the skills and power to back it up. For them to fight on for this long while holding the line against a troll who is basically a swordfight counter monster. If it were to be something else that can't regenerate and doesn't have a super tough and strong body, the elves might have been able to defeat them. I'm surprised that they were even alive and kicking while fighting a monster who is a walking cheat code that they can't defeat without specific magic flames. Now I see why they wouldn't want to abandon their own especially since those are some elites that are hard to replace, and because comrades have a deep connection with one another, it seems. Since they called for reinforcements, I'm guessing that their idea was to hold out until backup arrives. They must have a reason not to run. Probably cause something is stopping them from doing that or they are too prideful.
