@Neha that's indeed weakness as a character is what I'm talking about bout. Granting she was abused and all and now have experience comfort and happiness. It is all the more reason to be stronger and hold on and not draw back to her old life in which she perfectly knows how it is.

her "weakness" as you're calling it is what makes her human. Don't you have doubts and fear in your everyday life ? Don't you try to improve yourself when you are lacking knowledge or power ? That is what she's doing. And the environment Riftan offered her allowed her to blossom.
Do you realise the change in colour palette between Anatole et Croyso ? A flower needs sun and croyso is full of shadow. Calling Maxi weak just shows that you indeed didn't read the novel. And even without reading it you can't qualify her like that because you just look at her like her father.
