her "weakness" as you're calling it is what makes her human. Don't you have doubts and fear in your everyday life ? Don't you try to improve yourself when you are lacking knowledge or power ? That is what she's doing. And the environment Riftan offered her allowed her to blossom. Do you realise the change in colour palette between Anatole et Croyso ? A flower needs sun and croyso is full of shadow. Calling Maxi weak just shows that you indeed didn't read the novel. And even without reading it you can't qualify her like that because you just look at her like her father.
@Mina you're all missing the point. You're all missing the point. That's why I'm asking for a bit of determination. Because everything is just perspective. She is in a gloomy place then step in the sun by means of changing perception. She's lived her life in croyso and Anatole, she only need to choose which life she wants, a bit of determination to choose how she wanted to live. Because no one will live it for her. No one can help her if she doesn't help herself. No one can hear you struggle if yourself felt defeated. You have to fight and struggle. Scream! And start it with even your silent voice that stems in determination.
@Mina I think as the story progresses she'll be saved and be reunited with Riftan. But what's the point of being saved when she is prisoner of her own thinking that she is nothing, a left over. She needs to break free of the caged she enclosed herself that she doesn't amount to anything. She needs determination to do that.
