Earlier in the manga Kael thought she was trying to kill herself when she wasn' t, the same thing happened in the novel she was just looking out from the ledge in her room. Seeing her there reminded him of himself when he was depressed
It's not until after Kael helps Diana not get deposed that Hestia actualy does tryto kill herself. I think the people were probably getting the two scenes confused.
