Maybe it's like this man resembles his mother the man in the picture and actually I didn't understand completely that man at first with glasses is different from this one right! So she loved another man or what I didn't understand that clearly
The picture that karlyle bought was the the picture of ash's mom(in the picture she have short hair) and it was drawn by her freind(philip whitewood). But his dad mistook that philip and ash's mom was having an affair and his doubt strengthened because of ash's eye colour. The truth about the picture is that it depicts ash's mom first met ash's dad.
Actually i Think The secret truth was that it was his mom that had drawn their father when she first Saw him, but yeah its confusing so im not sure either
