It's her fault, the prince is capable to be a good ruler, even if he is not capable of a lot of emotions. She could educated him a little differently but instead she stayed on the idea that he is not "normal" and that's why he became like this. He tried to kill her because she did it to him.

@Yue Shaolan No, Ricardo does be unable to rule properly. He's not even trying to empathise with what others might feel. Even today most foolish poliicians know better and try to at least fake the part to some extent, perfectly aware that their "survival" greatly depends on "reading the room" and other social skills. btw when you lead ppl, the more under you and the more you need to read in a whiff. iykyk.

Back to Ricardo, maybe if/once he met with the original FL and develop more normally would he stands some chance/legitimacy or better (=relevance) to access the throne. But not as he is now.
@Yue Shaolan PS: btw think of the countless sad mothers/families who birthed psychopaths and other dreadful criminals. Can you say for sure they are "guilty" of how those ppl act ? As a matter of facts, scientific studies have been conducted and the "mother guilty of not properly raise their (criminal) child" is but a myth. The vast majority of said criminals had never been neglected nor mistreated etc. Also the reverse proves such wonrg as well : the vast majority of former neglected or mistreated children never grow into criminal. It just happen there's about the same percentage of misteated/neglected children both within non-psychopaths and whithin real psychopaths.
@Ryip from what I know, sociopaths are made while psychopaths are born. Trauma/neglect can lead to sociopathy, but for psychopaths it's their brain structure that limits their sense of empathy and compassion
@Ryip he can learn tricks to see how people feel by reading the body language and he can fake a little bit even if he has to use a little bit of energy.
@Ryip PS : I'm only talking about the situation that lead to him getting kicked out of the imperial palace, he tried to kill her but she tried to kill him too because he was not "normal".
@Yue Shaolan You stated "the prince is capable to be a good ruler". Sorry not sorry but he isn't.

What his mother did/does is irrelevant to his lack of innate skills.
@molly cavenaile Indeed traumas have little to do with how they usually "function". ofc a sociopath/psychpath might also get traumas but once again normal ppl do get traumas as well. Traumas never ever excuse crimes.
@Ryip Hi 👋🏽 I wasn't saying that crimes committed by those who've experienced trauma are justified at all, but it can help people to know why they would do such things. I'm just saying that being mistreated could never make a real psychopath. Psychopaths are born not made. So in the Prince's case, his behaviour isn't anyone's fault (except maybe the author's lol). Also, you're right that not most kids who've been mistreated become sociopaths, but experiencing severe abuse or trauma can cause changes in their brain e.g. multiple personalities. Some sociopaths become sociopaths because when their in their most formative time in early childhood they witness or experience a gruesome act that leaves an impression on their development. Also, not all sociopaths or psychopaths become criminals, some go their whole lives functioning as contributing members of society. 😅
@molly cavenaile Not saying the prince shouldn't be held accountable for his actions either 😅
