@Isaiah I would like to agree. But if this is truly the end with no hope of a sequel or spin off then I would like to at least settle for a satisfactory ending. If the author feels there is nowhere left to go in telling their story then it's best to leave it be as I'd rather avoid the story feeling like it's being dragged.

I hope not.  That's too final and I'd like the possibility of coming back to it....

@JustWatching She hasn't even finished off the Haniel arch.  Something should have happened with the mangaka.  This doesn't feel like Fukada has nowhere left to go, it feels like there are problems somewhere else that are causing the end.  I'd rather there be some sort of open end that we can come back to if whatever issues are causing this go away.
